Technological innovation, Chinese equipment won the "crown pearl"
In July this year, XCMG's new 2000-ton wind crane (XCC2000), the world's largest telescopic boom wind crane, was exported to Bosnia and Herzegovina, and was engaged in the country's largest new energy power generation project - Ivovik wind power project. It is reported that XCC2000 can lift 135 tons of heavy objects to a height of 160 meters, setting a world record in the field of telescopic wind power construction worldwide.
The super mobile crane is known as the "pearl in the crown" of the world's engineering machinery technology because of its high technical threshold and great difficulty in research and development. More than 30 years ago, this field was still dominated by the United States, Germany and Japan. They not only occupied the vast majority of the market, but also blocked relevant technologies, which made Chinese enterprises with a late start and a weak foundation suffer from the "neck" pain.
Sun Li, Deputy General Manager and Director of the Technical Center of the Construction Machinery Branch of XCMG Construction Machinery Co., Ltd., told reporters that at that time, China's super-large-tonnage crawler cranes were completely dependent on imports, and the price of related equipment was high. After the failure, it often had to wait more than a month for foreign engineers to repair. Large hoisting construction projects are severely restricted by foreign countries.
"Only by mastering the large-tonnage products can we truly grasp the international discourse of the industry. But when we proposed to develop and manufacture the 4000-tonnage crawler crane by ourselves, some foreign manufacturers thought that we could not do it." But XCMG did not believe this evil, "Why can't the Chinese do it? Just tell them that we can!" With this belief, Sun Li and her team devoted themselves to the project day and night. Finally, they got inspiration from the stressed structure of the cable bridge and made a major breakthrough in the project.
After several rounds of component optimization, modification of 7 counterweight schemes, and testing of more than 10 boom forms, XCMG 4000-ton crawler crane XGC88000, known as the "world's first crane", was successfully lifted in Yantai Wanhua in July 2013. In the past, the lifting task of small tonnage cranes can only be completed in a few months, and the "big guy" can be lifted in less than half a day.
It has won a good reputation at home and abroad. In October 2019, XCMG XGC88000 made its debut in Saudi Arabia and successfully hoisted a washing tower of more than 100 meters high and nearly 2000 tons, becoming another landmark event of the "the Belt and Road" project leading China's high-end equipment to the sea. Subsequently, XCMG XGC88000 transferred to Oman and took on another heavy responsibility. "The world's first crane" has been widely recognized internationally since then.
Since its launch, XCMG XGC88000 has traveled nearly 60000 kilometers in total, completed more than 230000 tons of heavy lifting tasks, created and maintained the highest and heaviest lifting record of the tonnage, and had a safe operation time of more than 10000 hours. With multiple records of the world's largest lifting capacity, the most complete working condition coverage, the best transportation efficiency, and the highest economic applicability, XCMG XGC88000 has interpreted the path of technological innovation in the manufacturing industry from made in China to created in China.
Overseas manufacturing, Chinese enterprises help local development
With the continuous expansion of business layout, the mode of domestic construction machinery going to sea has entered a new stage of industry going to sea from a single product. Relevant enterprises have worked intensively in overseas markets and actively integrated into local development.
On the morning of August 15, local time, the first SY215CKD excavator produced by Sany Indonesia's "Lighthouse Factory" went offline, marking the completion and operation of the first overseas "Lighthouse Factory" in China's construction machinery industry.
"Lighthouse Factory" was selected by the World Economic Forum in Davos and McKinsey Management Consulting, referring to those projects with exemplary significance in digital manufacturing and globalization, representing the highest level of intelligent manufacturing and digitalization in the global manufacturing industry.
It is reported that Sany Indonesia "Lighthouse Factory" is the first overseas manufacturing base of China's construction machinery built in full accordance with Industry 4.0 standards, and also the first overseas systematic output of intelligent manufacturing standards of China's construction machinery industry. "From industrial software and every data to production equipment and every screw, Indonesia's" Lighthouse Factory "is fully implemented with reference to Chinese standards." Ding Shifeng, the project leader, said that there are more than 500 robots of all kinds in the factory and only about 100 workers.
"We used to focus on overseas sales, but now we focus on overseas manufacturing, especially intelligent manufacturing." Ding Shifeng said that Sany will also build an overseas training center in Indonesia that can accommodate more than 600 people for training at the same time, based on Indonesia's "beacon factory", to help improve the manufacturing level in Indonesia. "The completion of the factory is expected to change the world's impression of China's intelligent manufacturing and provide a good opportunity for the world to understand that China's intelligent manufacturing is in a leading position in the world to a certain extent," Ding Shifeng said.
At the other end of the world, in Brazil, XCMG's international business is also entering the fast lane of high-quality development.
"This year marks the 10th anniversary of the founding of XCMG Brazil. When we first came to Brazil, the factory had only more than 100 people. Now we have more than 960 people, more than 95% of whom are local employees in Brazil. The culture of China and Brazil has been well integrated." Gu Chong, the chief cultural officer of XCMG Brazil, told reporters that in recent years, the factory has been operating steadily and rapidly, and various business indicators have increased significantly, "XCMG Brazil Plant is not only an important achievement of XCMG's going global, but also an important force to promote the economic and trade development of China and Brazil".
